Testing knock counts question

Does engine have to be running? Can knock be tested ign on engine off?

I believe the engine has to be over 1000 rpm. TT chips I think disable knock below this rpm. Bring up to over 1k and use a 3/8 extension and tap on block next to sensor to test.

Well that explains it then Gary. The last time I tried the tap method was years back with the old chips and I bet they didnt ignore below 1k thats why it didnt register when we tried it in BG.

Yep i failed too.lol. I was discussing this on another site and i did not realize this fact.learn something everyday.
