TE what? TA huh?

I've got a good friend who works at a turbo business in Michigan. I've asked him whether he could get me a TA-49 or TE-44 for my 87 GN.. and he says those are not numbers he's familiar with. Where can I find the specs on these turbos? I'm sure if I gave him that.. he'd be able to hook me up.

"TE" turbo compressor has an integrated inlet bell
"TA" turbo compressor has a bolt on inlet bell ( stock style )

Thanks Fuelie -- but, my friends questions are more along the lines of what are the specs? Where did the numbers on these turbos come from? He says they're not stock Garrett numbers..
