Stock tachometer

Trying to get it to work.I know it is not accurate , but I just want everything to work like when it was new.I have disconnected the wire behind the alt. & it will start moving ,but alot higher than it should be.When connected it does nothing.

the two wire connectors hanging behing the alternator arent supposed to be connected

white one is tach out for connection of an aftermarket tach .
the other green connector is for the puel pump , if connected to a 12v sourcw such as the power lead to the underhood lamp or the output stud of the alternator it will run the fuel pump

But one is a male plug & the other is female & they plug together perfect

yep , stupid move on buick engeneering but they shouldnt be plugged together

Is it hard to remove the modules for these guages??? I'm thinking of getting mine fixed, I hate seeing a redlined tach all the time.
