I have a dry sump system on my Buick and the vent on the oil tank releases steam.
Admittedly when first building this combination I had some problems with the heads and cracks and leaking. Those were fixed and the heads pressure tested fine.
Now I just get a steady stream of steam, but no drop in the coolant level. Additionally I pressure tested the system and it held 30psi for more than 5 minutes and no milkshake oil. So these things coupled with no coolant level drop leaves me to believe I have no internal leaks.
But I would like to know what the cause of this steam is. Is it from combustion process and any blow by that might be taking place?
