scanmaster mph reading

my mph reading on the scan master is about half of what the speedo is reading. Whats causing this? Is this hurting my performance or driveability any?.

thats a new one on me. Since the sm is readind from the ecm I would think thats an issue. hows it drive?

You don't have a 145 MPH speedo cluster with a reducer gear in there somewhere

It seems to drive OK. I'm not sure of if its running as good as it should. I have an old Caspers UltraChip in it. It origanally had the 85 MPH gauge in it but I put an 145 cover on it, but I dont recall ever doing anything to any sensors at all.

Ok there's a 145 Overlay but you did nothing to calibrate the speedo. The VSS pickup for the ECM is in the speedo head
