Can the front cover be removed without taking the water pump off, or are there mounting bolts under the water pump? I have has it apart before, but already replaced the water pump. Im doing a cam swap at the moment.
You can leave the water pump on.There is one bolt that is kinda hiiden behind the water pump inlet on the passenger side but you can get to it with water pump on!!
The hidden bolt is just above the pump countersunk just above the oil pump to the left of the crank opening. The 4 long bolts (with the larger head) needs to come out of the water pump as they go all the way through to the block.
