Q-Jet ? CA vs. Non- ca carb Experts chime in?!

Whats the difference? Turns out my "Rebuilt" carb was a hack job. i got another guy rebuilding it now but he says several parts and levers are missing.

Now theres a guy that has a good deal on a complete non-california carb from and 82" and i want to know if itll work. Visually it looks the same.

my 83 cali carb has a pn of 17083244 and the 82' is a non-california 17082244.

First of all will it work?

Second will the car pass the sniffer test? (im not concerned abboout the visual part of the test.)

Can i change parts ffrom my old one to make this one a california version?

There are very little differences between federal and cali versions of the carbs. You shouldn't have a problem it it's been rebuilt right. There are some mods that you can make and I'll get into that later.

There are no federal vs. CA carbs in 82 and 83. I have the same 17083224 on my non-CA '83 T Type.
