So this is what's left of my Grommet. It was so hard and old, it crumbled into several pieces. I read that could happen. I was lucky not to have lost any pieces in the intake, but I almost did. However, once I got it all out. Cleaned up the area around it, it wasn't bad installing the new PCV & Grommet. I'm definitley am grateful to finally accomplish something with this car in a timely fashion. ;)

What vavle and grommet did you use? Finally was able to get mine out could not get the new one back in after I put in the grommet! Grrrrrrrrrr:rage:

Kirban sells the proper grommet, designed by Richard Clark. Parts stores grommets don't work as you found out, unless you ream out the hole in the grommet.

I've found that using a hair dryer and getting the grommet real warm helps. In addition, put a little lube on the valve and it will push in a little easier still.
