On way to San Francisco from Nj. What to do and not do

I suggest beating the feet and soaking it all in as it is a beautiful city in my opinion. Eat at the Pier 39 and take a boat cruise of the bay. Oh and one cannot visit San Francisco without visiting Haight-Ashbury and look for that dang white rabbit! ;)

Feed your head.

Try to get out of the city for a few, Marin headlands and Muir woods are nice but can get crowded. Take Bart over to the East Bay. Berzekley is a must.

Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard St and The Golden Gate Bridge to name a few places in SF

Fishermans warf get some sourdough bread and lobster bisk at the light house right there on the water. Enjoy the switch backs right in that area, ever watch BULLITT? That movie was filmed in that area!
LA isnt too far, chinese theater, PCH 1 , hollywood.

LA to las vegas is 2.5 hours. Then drive to the grand canyon. Head north or south from there.. I drove from kansas city to LA a few times and seen it all, are you going the south route or the north route? And what time of year?
