Oil Pump Leaking

I've traced an oil leak to the oil pump gasket. I'm going to be replacing this weekend. Should I use gasket or sealer? Any tips that would aid in the fix would be greatly appreciated.

Do not use any gasket sealer, only use the gasket. You don,t want any sealer around the gears. Have the pump surface plate resurfaced. I used a piece of flat thick glass as a flat surface and lapped the housing. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE the glass surface is flat when lapping. The resurface pump housing will boost your oil pressure. Hope this helps

PS. Use a figure 8 lapping motion with 320- 400 wet sand paper with WD 40 as a lube.

The torque on the oil pump housing bolts is 120 INCH pounds.
