i sprung a leak today. it is from the oil sendin unit(thats what i would call it). its what the oil filter screws into. is that what it is called? and any 1 know where to get 1. or possibly a gasket?

ok i found out that that is the pump on the ft of the motor. does any 1 know if the oil pump is part of the timing cover or if it comes off of it compleatley.

The oil pump housing is part of the timing cover. The oil pump cover (part that filter screws onto) unbolts from the timing cover and the gears fall out. There are rebuild kits at all parts stores.

They also have "trust plates" if the oil pump cover is worn.

If the pump housing is galled, a timing cover from a non-turbo is the same (from the junkyard). Just makes sure you get an earlier timing over for a 14 bolt oil pan.
