Hey guys.. I have an 85 Corvette.. and it had a dead battery. I hooked the cables up the wrong way.. for about 30 seconds. (For some reason both cables are red.. ut oh). Long story short.. the dead battery problem was a dead alternator. Replaced it.. and got the car going. All is well. Everything works, except the radio and the light for the ac control panel.. although the ac works fine. I checked all of the fuses.. and all are fine. It's an aftermarket head unit. Any ideas where I should look for the problem?

thanks

Since it is an aftermarket unit, pull it and check the fuse in the wiring harness. If it is not blow the unit most likely did not have reverse polarity protection, which would most likely mean the power supply is fried. The unit might be repairable, so take it to a local electronics repair service. HTH

that was it man

Thanks again. It was a fuse in the back of the head unit. All's better now.
