My hood pops open when I drive

I take them off, clean w/ brake or carb cleaner, to get all the 30 yr crud out/off, lube it, and it's GTG...

Is there a specific year that it will turn into??

I'm partial to the 66/67 model year. If I lube it real good will I get a SIX-PACK and a 4spd?

Clean your bifocals.. A "GTG" is NOT a "GTO".
If the hood flys up, it's a "bad" yr, period!
A "SIX-PACK" is on a Dodge, not a GTO, you dummy!
