What would cause an ECM to go bad?
I was just out crusing around when suddenly my car just stopped on the freeway in the fast lane
. I also noticed NO data would register on the scan master. After getting it home I tried a different ECM with my chip and it fired right up. I noticed with the Bad ECM installed I could turn the key on engine off and hear the fuel pump running and would not stop. With the good ECM I could turn the key on engine off and the fuel pump would run for a few seconds and stop.
Any ideas would be a great help as I don't want to just put a new one in and don't know what caused this one to go bad.
