Sooooo you wouldn't/couldn't rationalize a years dues at say $10 / $20  Thats sad. Well if they do end up doing some sort of "donation" thing you always have "TurboBuickS.com" Lots of good info over there :p

Yeah, my wife say's Im cheap too. I prefer the term fiscally conservative.

Dogs are great "listeners" . Hambone here is really funny with the stuff he does. One day the wife said "I wonder what he would say if he could talk". I said NOTHING. He is fine the way he is.

I voted for Donations. This is a priceless board filled with information and experience, I never do anything with out checking here first.

Come on this is a hobby and like all hobbies it cost money, so for whatever reason you have that you can not afford to pay a minimal fee maybe you should sell your car since you can’t afford that either.

It’s funny how some, I’m not saying everyone, cries about paying a small reasonable fee but yet they are the same ones who might be signed up on a pay porno site.

Or some can invest thousands into their cars but yet feel since they don’t get something materialistic out of the forum, they should not have to pay anything.

Contributing member badge would be nice, or paid member perks.

I voted for a fee...not a required fee..just one you can do if you choose and have zero adds, additional space...etc. ALSO think donations are a good thing for people that wanna send 5 bucks to the site but don't want to spend the higher amount for a fee.

Dont see how donation will work. You have tight A$$ that will ride for free. Annual fee and rock on.

Agreed! If you own one of these cars you will find this site useful in some way. It may save you from making a bad purchase, needing to pay for diagnostics or find local help on some other issue. I see some sell parts here for free and never help anyone. I would have no problem with a yearly or monthly fee. I would also like quality Turbobuick.com gear and will purchase the android app when available.

On another site I belong to it is all free,BUT for $50 a year you get a hole list of goodies.:biggrin:I just sold our $25000 blower motor to a guy in Norway so the $50 paid pretty good return.:cool:I just wish my other investments did that good;)

I posted this in haterad thread also why not take it another level offer free membership but also offer different levels of membership the more you spend the better your perks get its always nice to have options...Have a package for those that are online only another package for those that attend events...Get with vendors to put together goodie bags with a membership card /lanyard holder ,poster ,t shirt, hat ,jacket, license plate frame, calander, keychain, or have a pick your goodies option...an online store is also an awesome option were always lookin for buick goodies having them all in one spot would be saweet...Scott at gns has some kick azz keychains...

Maybe discounts on products online perks like increased pm and avatar space, As far as the track guys membership package discounted admission to events, the option to buy your event tix ahead of time and have a members tent with ac and like a barbecue/members dinner at the tb.com nats..... And a members area at the other buick events maybe priority parking with electric hookup and other racer support idk the sky is the limit here ...Also Maybe get together with the vendors that are from certain areas of the country and Put up a big Turbo buick.com tent at other major events with the vendors all in one place that way the cost can be shared so it will be easier for vendors to attend ...Goto major events like Detroit autorama, carlisle, car craft nats, hot rod power tour, and maybe a import vs domestic event.....It will help grow the community... Announce on the site which events so you can have have local members bring a few cars to display at the tents..

As far as the donation thing goes have different levels of donation like once you get to a certain level of donations you get certain perks and have posted running list and prizes for top donaters at the nats and online prizes recognition for those that dont attend but donate online...

I would absolutely pay a year fee for this site. think about it. its like having 2000 mechanics on call whenever you need an opinion. That is priceless. the amount i've learnt from this site is priceless

Lonnie, that'll always be the case. But if the board makes it worthwhile to pay (i.e. enhancements) and say, 50% sign up, then it could work. I was on a printer's forum for a long time until they started a mandatory fee, I just wasn't getting enough out of it to justify paying so I bailed. Let the non-payers read and post, but not much else...
