Turbo Tweak chip lost all tune parameters with no battery disconnect. I changed the plugs today but otherwise untouched. Could it be a bad ground? Help and thanks.

A voltage loss to the ECM will cause it. When it happens, its typically on startup. Bad battery cables, starter, battery, ignition switch, etc. can cause it.
If you've made large changes to the parameters, its best to have the chip reprogrammed to permanently apply the changes.

Is there any way to source out the problem? I love my chip the way it is.thx

Do you have a power logger? If you have a saved log I believe you can see where you had the parameters set and just re-load them.

How long will the tunesaver hold a charge for with the battery disconnected?

D

I don't know if anyone knows for sure, but last winter mine held for at least 3 months. I suspect it would go longer.

Battery cable. That was easy.
If only every issue was that easy.

So Eric. Are you saying that you had your car battery disconnected for 3 months and the tunesaver held the memory all by itself for the 3 months?

D

Yes. But the Tunesaver itself doesn't hold the settings, the ECM does. The Tunesaver supplies a small amount of power to the ECM so it holds its memory.

If that’s the case then the tunesavor is worth every penny.

thank you.
