looking at 85 type T

Ok needing some help in what to look for in an 85 Type T.

Car has 125000 miles; owner says original owner upgraded turbo, injectors, fuel pump. They changed mechanical fan to electric. Ticking sound, sounds like exhaust leak, good oil pressure.

Car is silver, w/black trim, interior is 8+, exterior is 7+ repainted. No rust

What should i look for? It idols rough, but runs Good!
Suspension it tight, tracks straight…


Upgrade possibilities... intercooler, computer?

Definitely upgrade the ECM to an '86-'87. You'll get more info if you post this in the Hot-Air forum. Several possibilities for the rough idle symptom. (vacuum leak, etc.) Are the fuel injectors stock replacements or upgrades? If upgrades, (i.e., higher flow rate) did the current/previous owner upgrade the chip to match? Other than that, treat this used car like any other; find out maintenance history and expect usual wear and tear after 125K miles.
