idle help

hi
i have a 84 hot air stock
when i first start it up it seems like there are only four cylenders for about 2 minutes it misses bad.
any ideas.

This one could be hard. Ideas- spark plug wires, spark plugs, coil module/pack, bad injector, IAC out of adjustment. Start somewhere and rule out the potential issues one by one. Good luck- Brad

I'd start with the IAC and see if it's out of adjustment if this isn't correct the car will not idle correctly. Then I'd check the list that Brad has put together.

Don' forget the maf.........one going/gone south can wreak havoc with your idle too..........good luck

Did you find the issue? Yes a bad MAF will make the car run crappy as well, my car didn't want to run at all whent he MAF died.

i tried a different maf still idles very rough will try plugs and wires tomorrow.

ichanged wires and plugs i took out rapid fire plugss to a/c plugs the ones made for the car.it went from a three to 8 with a10 being thebest.
p.s. i also cleaned the i.a.c with gumout.
