GMP Buicks I've never heard of....

I found this on a diecast forum. It is rather long, but has a list of most of the Turbo Buick diecasts GMP made.

Two on the list I am very curious about and wanted to see if anyone here knew of them. First is 8003V, 87 GNX with vinyl roof? And second is 8010M, light blue prostock GN? Also noticed 8004B, a black 87 GN made by Epitome. I am wondering if this one might just be a typo and is actually 8104B, the drag version.

I brought back this thread after reading the blue chrome Turbo Buick thread. Didn't want to hijack a thread about a different car, but it made me think of this one. My original post had a link to a list on the Diecast Pub which got hacked with viruses and is being rebuilt currently.

Anyways, anyone have any thoughts on the 87 GNX with a vinyl roof? Still have never heard of or seen one anywhere else. The prostock Buick mentioned was just the tweaked car with decals removed from what I understand.

V GNX is custom byc? (i dont do customs/FAKES), prostock is tweaked prepro ,other is epitome drag (wrong #)

I am unaware of a GNX vinyl roof. Not only does it makes no sense, but I am not aware of any discussion by GMP about it. I give it a solid NO. The answers about the others seem on target.

I copied that list a long time ago & recently tried to go back to that site to see if it had been updated, but found the site was being rebuilt.

Here's the list for you (as it was printed from there, accurate or not):

Thats the list I was referring to. Thanks for posting it.

Here's an accurate list I made a few years back of all the Regal diecasts that were made:
http://www.gncollector.com/diecastlist.html
(theres a downloadable {right click, save as} notepad file on the right side, near the start of the list)

I'm in the process of updating it now, but will be awhile before reposting.

You might like the recent posts (& pics) I've been making lately on my other website (I'm featuring Buick Regal diecasts all this month, so there's more still to come, keep checking back):

Some small corrections to your list GNcollectables. Yellow w/Flames Drag Version GN production was 480, not 750. The weird thing about the Yellow Drag GN is that the first 300 had the Epitome GOLD license plates like all the cars before. The remaining 180 had silver plates, making them rarer than the normally rarest 300 GOLD. Molly Designs 1 of 750 1987 Grand National you have listed as (no #). They were all serialized, however, only the first 300 had serialized certificates to match.

I highly doubt it. Now I don't know every internal thing that happened at GMP, but it wouldn't make sense. Samples are hand built and cost money. I contracted with GMP to build the Drag Versions AFTER Tweaked was made. So, much of the Drag Version cars make up is the same as Tweaked (Minus the wrong, GNX rear suspension, that made it onto Tweaked because Lawrence Conley missed it on the sample he signed off on lol). The concept wasn't working from scratch. I have the first ever sample of the Yellow w/Flames Drag Version. It has the Tweaked GNX fender vents in the hood and the flame design we settled on was correct but much too dark on the sample. I cannot vouch for what happened internally at GMP, but I don't think that car would have been built, the concept was off Tweaked from the start.

That makes sense thanks..... I do know after talking to insiders at gmp and others who left gmp years before the end...people seem to have a lot of different views on what was really done behind closed doors. Still I'm very happy to have met all the people I have spoken too. Anyone involved in making gmp buicks has made it exciting to hunt for rare stuff:)

No# meaning it doesn't have a # like G1800212 on the box (which I assume this 212 # would be correct for the 2nd car, based on G1800211 for the 1st car & 213 for the 3rd car {theWE4} )

Thanks for the other info tho., I think that was a typo on my part.

I don't know why I missed it before but the list on your website, where I have been sending a number of people now, seems to end with the Rare Sage model in 1:18th scale. The 4, 1 of 500 D84 two tone cars came after, as well as the 1 of 200 Rosewood. Then GMP's releases of the Fact or Fiction GN, Drag GNXs (Blue and Silver), and the 2 1986 T-Types. I am sure you know lol.
