glass bead piston skirts ??

is is acceptable to glass bead the piston skirts when cleaning up a piston ? I recently recieved a set of JE .020" pistons . the pistons/pins look in mint condition and have been lightly cleaned up by glass beading ONLY on the tops and skirts . thanks .

That's fine. As long as the ring grooves and wrist pin bores have not been glass beaded, it won't hurt anything. If you want to get them coated they need to be glass beaded first anyway, but if you run them the way they are, they will be fine.
