Just a reminder that Gateway International Raceway, (Madison, IL) will start its 2005 Tuesday Night Street Car Shootout Series Season on Tuesday, March 29th. Gates open at 5 PM with racing until at least 10 PM. Admission is $10 for spectators or $15 to race.

Here are a few notes about the 2005 Tuesday Night Series:

NEW PROGRAM: Along with the season-opening edition of the Southside City Speed Shop Street Car Shootout and the Wise Speed Shop Challenge, don't forget Tuesday (3/29) will start the DragRacingOnline.com Front-Wheel-Drive Showdown. Each week during the 2005 Tuesday night season, the two quickest FWD qualifiers from the normal qualifying period will run for trophies at the end of the night just before the SCSS championship round. Any FWD car is legal.

NEW PERMANENT NUMBERS: Gateway recently had their computer timing system reformatted and upgraded by Comp-U-Link and, as a result, Gateway will be issuing new permanent numbers and Competition Credential Cards for 2005. Front-Wheel-Drive entries will be marked with the suffix "F" so they can be qualified in the SCSS field and still earn a Fastest Street Car decal, (if qualified in the Quick 16), and also run the new FWD Showdown without confusion.

NEW SCOREBOARDS: Gateway recently installed LED bulbs in the scoreboards for those of you who swear you don't need glasses. Actually, I'm not positive they've been installed yet, but if not, they'll soon be.

The full 2005 schedule also starts the last week of March with the kick-off for Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday events. For more information, check out http://www.gatewayraceway.com/dragRacing.html.

See you there!
