factory alarm

Does anyone know how to get rid of the factory alarm or disable it? Mine does not work anymore but the security light is always lit and I think it is draining my battery. Checked everything else fan relays, underhood light,etc.

Don't know how to disable it. Worst come to worst just remove the "security" bulb. Easier than removing the system I'm sure.

Do you have a multimeter that can check current? If you have the car sitting for along time with the security light flashing since its a bulb it could drain the battery.

This happened to mine as well,

there is a controller for the factory alarm buried up in the dash, picture it being behind the headlight switch......

its mounted vertically and is a pain to unplug - but once you do no more flashing security light. You could also try to fix it
