Exhaust and water

Hi guys,

Sometimes when my car is cold and I start it after about 30 seconds or so small water droplets fly out of both exhaust pipes. Is this normal? It does not happen all the time, maybe 20% of the time.

That's normal. Water is a by-product of combustion, so when the exhaust is cooler the water can't "vaporize."

yes if it is a small amount.......with perfect combustion you yield h2o;) it can also be condensation built up in the exhaust system and then get pushed out.....as long as it is only droplets and not running out and no white smoke you are good to go

Remembering back from Auto-tech school WAY back in the '70's we were told that for every gallon of gasoline we burn, one gallon of Dihydrogen monoxide is produced. Dihydrogen monoxide is H2O, or rather water. Wanto to have fun.......youtube "dihydrogenmonoxide penn and teller" and watch the IDIOTS! The world is full of "tools".
Once the engine and the exhaust system waqrms up, it stays in vaporus form after leaving the tail pipe. Short hops to and from the grocery store will KILL an exhaust system in short order.

OK here it is for you: Some swearing, as usual with Penn and Teller.
