Hi, My problem is what the title says under hard braking or sometimes after a normal brake the engine's rpm drops to 2 to 3 hundred and stalls. Thanks for any HELP! Mark

Hopefully someone with a bit more experience will chime in, but I believe almost all idling issues can be resolved by properly adjusting the Idle Air Control (IAC) and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). If you have a scan tool, you want the IAC to be as close as possible to 20-25 and the TPS .40-.46 volts at idle

****Also make sure the torque convertor is unlocking if it is a lock up type convertor - a scan tool can help. If you have a 9 inch convertor, it may be causing your stalling problem due to rotational mass difference, and a chip change with anti-stall feature can help prevent the problem.

If you still have the stock convertor, check and make sure it locks and unlocks properly as your TCC solenoid may have or be going bad. It's a fairly common problem, and relatively easy to fix if this is what it is.

Good luck
