Hi, so I pulled the turbo off my 80 Sport Coupe and in the process realized wholey crap there's a ton of vacuum lines running everywhere... Usually it's been my experience on similar vintage cars that you can get rid of at least half of them and things run better and look better. Is there any reason why I shouldn't take this same approach?
Thanks
Darren

Look on the radiator shroud for a vacuum hose diagram. I would also highly recommend getting a 1980 Buick Shop Manual off ebay.

Some things can be remove and some defiantely can't. Key is knowing which ones. For me, the smog pump was a big one to remove. It works with the ctatlytic conveter, so if that is gone, then no need for the pump and piping. Anything connected to the carb or turbo should be left on and verifed leak-free. It's common for the turbo actuator to be leaking internally.

If you had a 1981, then you would have twice as many wires to go along with all them hoses.
