egr block off plate.

I was digging through my stuff the other day and noticed i had a egr block off plate that i forgot to install. Anyways i put it on and noticed it leaks like crazy. I was wondering if you guys put any thing under yours to stop leaks? I also tried a egr gasket and still has a leak. Is my plate screwed or am i doing somthing wrong?

Should be a small gasket that is somewhat of a lead material. It doesn't look like a gasket but it is. That's how it was on my car, at least.

Depends on which plate you have. Champion works great with gasket. If you have a flat metal plate off ebay you need to use your factory EGR valve clamp, bend in the ears in to get a even tight seal..........

I think i got the flat plate one. Ill look into the factory egr clamp. Thanks guys for the reply.

What I did was I filled the EGR hole in the intake with some screen mesh and filled it in with JB Weld. No leaks and I can even run w/out the plate now
