Does Riv Elect Clim Control interchange with GN?

Im parting an 85 Turbo Riv. and was always under the impression that the Riv.s electronic climate control, Control box(with touch pad) was not interchangable with the Regal unit. I sold some parts to a guy who specialises in Riv.s and was told that there were 2 different Electronic control systems in Riv.s early and later version and that the later would work the same, can anyone confirm this for sure? Either way. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Also would anyone know what years and models exactly the 8.5 rear came in that fits into the S10's and Blazers?

Those Rivs are different than the Regals. The story about the 2 types is a little true. The only difference is in the appearance of the control head. The Regal used a programer where as the Riv used seperate motors. Regal=1 big programmer, Riv=5 seperate motors. Nothing interchanges.

You can find the 8.5 in any 95-05 S-10 or Blazer. All ZR2's used the 8.5". Only the 2WD's(and 4WD non-ZR2) with the 4.3 V-6 and 5 speeds have the 8.5. If it is an auto than it is a 7 5/8". 98 and newer Blazer had 4 wheel disc brakes too.
