Gas Gauge Not Working

I just got around to hooking up my battery the other night after having the car in storage for the past 1.5 years. I noticed that my gas gauge is not registering. I took my gas tank down and looked at the float and the wiring and everything seemed in tact as far as I know. I do have the overlay on the gas gauge assembly panel from Mark Huefmann but that doesnt seem to be hitting the spindle of the gauge. Is there a possibility my gauge could be bad? How do I test to see if I am getting power or to find out if my gauge is bad?

Brendan

Does anyone know what the voltage should be coming out of the sending unit in the gas tank, both full and empty?

My gas gauge stopped working correctly and I need to know whether it's the gauge or the sending unit.

Thanks.

Unplug the connector which removes the power feed.

Then with an OHMmeter measure between the black/wht. strp. which is the ground feed and the Pink wire.

Should be 90 ohms or so full, and 0 ohms empty.

I'm sorry Brendan....I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I wasn't aware I'd done that until I just checked it now....I thought I'd started a new thread.

Thanks Salvage.
