classic fast and msd no start

just switched from factory ignition to all msd (locked out pro billet distributor,7530t and matching coil,crank trigger)and fast 30712 harness from piggybacked factory ecu (1991 z28).rpm shows 0 in dashboard while cranking and i have no spark from the coil.

first i rolled engine over to 28*btc compression stroke(removing 8*for boost)rotated housing to align rotor with 1 on cap,tightened hold down clamp. Then rolled engine to 50* btdc and lined up and centered pickup with magnet on trigger wheel.set crank reference angle to 50*,shows 50*in dashboard.

is this done incorrectly?
where does the fast get its rpm signal?
any help is appreciated!
 
The FAST gets it's rpm signal from the crank trigger. Like E-ticket said, you have to convert the box from optispark to IPU.
