I have never changed the power steering fluid in my Gn.

How often should this be done?

Should i just use a turkey baster to remove the old fluid?

What type of power steering fluid should i use?

Thanks
Frank

I just changed mine on Saturday.
I recommend disconnecting the hose from the power steering pump (the one with the worm gear clamp). To do this, you will need to remove the 2 -13mm bolts holding the pump on the acessory bracket. Be sure to have a catch pan underneath. Also, turn the pump upside down to dump the old fluid out of it.

I just got Prestone Power Steering fluid from Autozone. My pump is working better than it has in a couple of years, so it seems to like it. Took less than 1qt.

Once you have the pump re-mounted, fill the reservoir to nearly the top. Spin the pulley some by hand and you'll see air bubble up through. Once the fluid level is down 1/2" or more, put the belt back on. Cap the reservoir, start the car. Steer to the far left, and to the far right. Repeat 10x. Turn off, check reservoir level. Drive car normally.
