We're rebuilding my non-turbo Indy Lights engine (used for vintage road racing). It was originally built by Lee Brayton, not George Montgomery, but is very, very similar. We have no idea what the cam specs are nor what the cam timing should be (we found the intake centerline was at 145deg BTDC - surely that's not right?).

Anyhow what I'm wondering is if anyone recognizes the references on the cam and on the three spare cams I have. Any info appreciated.

Cam in the engine -
- 25500056
- 0362FC9D (actually the 9 is backwards)
- K28

The three spare cams are -
A - 819416 (all these numbers are stamped/hammered)
- 93C1C
- I 018 E 024

B - stamped similar to above except 93C1C is 93C1A
- then etched on by hand -
- 3232
- 3233
- EVEN R6
- X8087

C - following all hand scribed (with sharp scriber)
- CC 008X 95 R6
- LASH I 018 X 022

Anyone recognize any of these marks?
Thx - Derek

25500056 cam

Derek
25500056 is the part number for the Buick stage II blank 8620 camshaft
It could be ground into many configurations

Max lift at lobe .450
accommodates 100 to 114 degree lobe seperation
sorry can not help you with the others

does your indy light run cosworth pumps
Regards
Steve

Any ref to R6 would be meaning a roller grind on a 106 CL or 108 etc.
I 018 means set lash at intake (I) .018 , exhaust (E) .022 etc!! Not sure what some of the other numbers mean?? Mike:cool:

I believe the CC on the C camshaft is a comp cams grind if you call them they can tell you its specs

Derek,

I'd recommend you take it or send it to a cam company and have them run it on their cam Dr. then you will know the exact specs.
