I have received several inquiries as to the existence of past awards and the availability of future ones.

All I know at this time, per Steve, is that last years awards were ordered and only need to be paid for, picked up, and passed out. I have no information on what awards will be given to this years winners, or, when they will be available.

I, as well as a couple other members, offered assistance in the coordination and marketing of this years event. I personally arrived early on Saturday to help setup the tables and arrange the prizes. Another member and his girlfriend, Brad and Becky, assisted in the bagging of literature and product samples for all of the attendees.

It was stated in previous posts that I would be in receipt of all entry funds for the show to dispel any accusations of mis-allocation of funds or otherwise on Steve Hurst's part.

For the record, I was not afforded the opportunity to collect any funds for the show, participate in any of the accounting, voting, or raffle coordination. I was merely a participant.

Thanks to all of the folks that helped make this an enjoyable time and I look forward to seeing all of you at future events abroad.

Eric, thank you for all your hard work and making this past car show a success by helping out withthe set up and what not. I would like to also thank the other people evolved with making it a success.

In regards to the awards, I personally could care less if I received mine or not. If I did cool,if not, I can assure you that I wouldn't loose one minutes sleep over it. Dwelling over petty things is friggen a waste of time and energy. One thing I have seen with individuals not following through with their promise is that things tend to come back on them ten fold. It's only a matter of time. So, you see... I could really care less of another persons actions, especially if they don't have integrity, and follow through with what was promised.

All I know is that I live my life to the fullest. I don't make enemies, I don't bad mouth others even when they have done wrong. I've learned this some time ago, that life will go on,no matter how bad something was or may seem. It's not my problem, it's theirs.

This is only my opinion, everyone else, well you are entitled too yours.

some things NEVER change!

I did not attend as stated previously. for reasons stated previously.
I applaud Eric for his intentions and attempts to make things "right"
but it seems old habits are hard to break. ( lip service from the promoter speaks volumes!)
I agree with Ray, the awards don't really mean much, (due to lack of sincerity)
I have been called every name under the sun by one of the promoters, but it really means ZERO!
I enjoy the meeting of a group of people who have a common interest, not a money making scam.
maybe someday this event will return to its original design and cause, until then, I'm sure others will see it for what it is.

It seems to me that sdsliders post pretty much validate everything that everyone knew all along, his post should be the last nail in the coffin and should put BGNRA to sleep once and for all, thanks for all your effort SD, I sure hope someone takes over and makes this event what it used to be years back, someone who does it for the love of the cars and not for $$$.

Pete.

last years awards were ordered and only need to be paid for, picked up, and passed out.

Then their shouldn't have been a show this year if that was the case. Its insulting to the people that took the time and spent the money to enter their cars last year. I think the turn out this year shows how people felt. Very sad and embarrassing for those running it.

I can only assume this will be the end of the show, and as for next year I'm guessing those who attend will have no idea of the circumstances - looks like that was mostly the case in this years attendees.

Looks like I didnt miss much.Glad I took the family to the beach in stead of going to the car show. The shows used to be fun, last years wasnt that great so Im glad I skipped this years. The only reason I would go is for a shot at winning some prizes. Well I already have all those prizes listed so no sense in buying tickets.

As for the people there, I still keep in contact with the ones I like seeing so I dont need a car show to bring us together, just a weekend. Good luck to all.

I thought giving opinions on this forum was without

Re-precautions or consequences But I guess not, I received a lovely PM from the great president of the Nation of BGNRA in reply to my post above, now i know for sure i will never ever set foot at one of these events from what is left of my life nor will i recommend anybody to attend.

gee, I thought I was the only one he talk sh!t to.

but hot air is all it is,
I wonder how dinner was at the casino after the show, ;)
I agree Pete, I will NOT endorse some one I feel is less then truthful.

Insulting another forum member, by name calling or any other means, is against forum rules. Consider this the final warning.

Send one of the staff another nasty PM and you will be booted, I don't care who you are....

The bates event is a great idea & no one should own it. If all of you want to keep it going & do it right whos to stop us. Now that the BGNRA has made its best effort. How about some of us getting together & doing something like it without all the drama & make it truly a non profit event. How hard could it be. Instead of or addition to prizes. What ever money left over after expenses use that as prize incentives. If after this last debacle if anyone is interested lets put it out there & see what the response is. I know there is an issue with distance for some of the LA people & something more centrally located would be nice. But personally I like SD county & there is also the deer park winery in Escondido that the event used to be held at.I also have spoken to the owners & they would be open to a car show event there again.I have spoken to some of the members here already & the interest & spark seems to be there. So lets hear some ideas. It's now up to the rest of us to keep this thing going or is it truly dead. But this has to be a community effort & not up to just one person to make it happen.

I both strongly agree  and I strongly disagree! With that being said I will definitely attend the next one unless I don't go!

P.S. If we attended in the past and never paid for an event, how do we get our money back?

Sounds like a plan. I'm in.

I'm going to suggest to start a new thread, for this new show, as to keep this wonderfull compilation of love notes, as pure as the driven snow.

That is a disgrace by the show organizer and a slap in the face to the people that bothered to even show up.

By the way, if I was Lee and you said that to me you would be on the way to get a fresh set of these...
