I am running the Accel DFI 6.0 but without the IAC...I haven't noticed any problems....I do idle it at 1000 rpms...

I know the IAC helps stabilize idle...esp. when A/C turns on and all (but I removed my A/C)...but what else does it do??? Does it make the car easier to drive in 1st (or taking off from a stop light?)...I have to ride my clutch a lot to keep it from stallin in 1st (when taking off)...I'm not sure if thats the fault of my heavy clutch or not having an IAC (I don't know if the IAC makes a difference at all?)...

thanks.

In a nut shell, IAC is Idle Air Control. Where as you can adjust it to open more off idle it's true and only function is to control idle speed. Any off idle stumble or surge or stalling is not it's job. Yes, it can in some instances keep it from stalling just past idle but that has more to do with your Max TPS for Idle setting and throttle follower. I believe DFI calls it anti stalling or somethin' like that.
