Anybody have a Jr Dragster? (12.90 class)

Just picked up a used one a while back. The stock tired motor only managed a 17.1 @ 35 Mind you, this was plenty fast for both son and dad but I do want him to be able to keep up with the other kids his age so he doesn't get smoked in times constantly (it isn't fun to always be the slowest).

So I picked up a rebuilt Raptor and have a 28mm flatslide, intake 3hp billet flywheel and header. I'm trying to get by with the salisbury 340 to keep cost in line.

Any advice? I'm considering a used Polar Jr but hate the cost of it cause I know it will quickly escalate.

Thanks Jason, looks like I'm not alone. If you have kids, consider doing it, it is really fun a makes you swell with pride.
