Mad_Medeiros, I am a Ford guy and you are giving us a bad name. Good for you that you have an Escort. I always thought that rally racing would be a cool thing to do. Why don't you use the car for what it was designed to do and autocross it or rally road race it. You said that you raced a Supra and by your estimation that your were doing 110mph in about 14 seconds. Well some of the Buicks can get to 125mph in under 11 seconds. Maybe if you want to dragrace, maybe you need to get a time slip and then maybe you can talk. However, I rather see the car used for the purpose of good and used for autocrossing or rally road racing.

First off, I would like to second what 68 Stang said....I own a 69 mach 1, and you're giving everyone with a Ford a bad name. Next, turbo Buick's aren't V8's, they're V6's, and they run 13's STOCK. You're picking one of the most feared and revered cars ever to prowl the streets. If you really own a Cosworth Escort, you will get beat - there is absolutely no doubt about it.

Before you continue with your ridiculous argument, peruse this site and gnttype.org. Check out the 1/4 mile timeslip section at gnttype.org. I can gurantee you there are at least 10 cars quicker than yours (EDIT: took my own advice - there's close to 40 cars in the sub-10 second range!). Unless you're a 13 year old troll, I don't see how you could continue to defend your stance.

Having driven a few ralley cars, they are impressive when used within their intended purpose. No doubt that the Cosworth can pull on many production V8 cars. The problem here is that a Cosworth is not a regular production car, it is a purpose built car. The other problem is jumping into this forum and being stupid enough to believe that just because you can beat production slug V8s in a drag race, does not mean you can beat a well built Turbo buick that is built to drag race. Same goes for purpose built V8s. Yeah, the Cosworth can carve a buick's lunch on an off road rally course, just the same as TR can carve your lunch at the drag strip. Now do us all a favor and just quit talking smack, and go beat up on the common ricers and production slugs. If you must persist on calling out a TR in a drag race, you are well within your rights to provide us an endless source of amusement as you obviously aren't smart enough to use your Cosworth for it's intended purpose. Nobody here is going to be stupid enough to run you in perhaps the Pike's Peak Challenge, you should be smart enough to not call us out at the strip. Alot of these cars beat purpose built V8s every day.

Almost all Dyno Queen Supras that make 600hp to the wheels can't even get out of the 12s.

Most Buicks are running 0-95mph in about 7 seconds as indicated by our timeslips that have been clocked on real track.

Take your car to a dragstrip with its AWD and bring back a timeslip. I guarentee you won't be close to what half of us run at the track.

Beat a Supra... There are some fast ones out there I will agree but there are WAY MORE faster Buicks on a drag strip.
