Anglers, New Record Northern Pike

Anyone recall seeing those 'gag' 30" lures at pro bass shop? Well , they just might work.
I received this from a buddy. I Cut/paste the info below. Date of pics unknown

This is the new record in Canada. He caught it on Rainy Lake. Check this thing out.. The first picture is unbelievable! This guy (in the photos below), was fishing and caught a 36" Pike - as he was reeling it in, a 56" Pike tried to eat it !!!!! He brought them both in on the same net. Awesome catch on a river in Canada - 55lbs- 56 inches.

I heard stories from the 'ol timers about "the one that got away" back when my parents had the marina/bait shop. Thought they were full of it. Now I start to wonder. And to think I swam in the same body of water. Yikes.

Good day fishing.

I have had sharks do that to grouper. Never anything in fresh water though. That thing is the size of a small shark.

Wow, that first pic is a thing of beauty. Not many Pike in my area, I've never had a chance to catch one.

Pike Pic - BUSTED

I was searching for the story, ........looks like the e-mail I received is another hoax

The guy ( Ewout Blom ) in pic wrote a story about the catch.
The short story is - Went on 10 day fishing trip in the Netherlands, days 1 through 9 = 0 fish, day 10 = MONSTER SNOEK !.

All catch/release.

I dont believe anything I see now.

Wow your only about 3 monhs late first off this isnt your buddy or minnnesota. This picture and STORY has been posted all over fishing boards since summer. The pike isnt a record and its from Holland or somewhere in Europe where pike get much larger than in the US.

Ive been had .........:redface: 3 month in the making.

First time for me to look around the fishing forums was a couple of days ago.

I found story on the guy who caught it, click on the word Hoax ( post 6 )
I dont know if its the real story though.

Sorry for the minor flame. I frequent alot of fishing boards and it seems like alot of this is going on. I dont mind the hoax part but cant stand how guys insert my freind or I saw it at the landing. Again sorry for the flame was a little hot befrore reading this post.
