AC Question

My AC can't quite keep up with the California sunshine especially in stop-n-go traffic and I'm preparing to recharge the system. I've heard that R-134 doesn't blow as cold as R-12. How many of you have made the switch from R-12 to R-134? Outside of a recharge is there anything else I can do to make the system blow colder? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I did the swap. My compressor went right after conversion so it had to be replaced. I didn't think the r134 cooled as well so added a parallel flow condensor and now its pretty cold. If I were you I would either stick with the r12 or go with a compatible replacement ie freeze 12 etc.

I live in CA, is R12 still available?
