I have a 98 Ultra and the gas gauge needle wrapped around all the way past
full and now is pegged under the bottom of the peg. Anyone know if that would be the sending unit or cluster or what? Ideas on how to fix.
Thanks.

The will more likely be the gage. If the send unit metering sensor was bad you would notice the gage needle staying at "E" all or most of the time.

Thanks for the reply Steve.Ya I was thinking gauge to.Some guys are drilling holes thru the plastic and using a paper clip to lift the needle back over the pin.Might do that as a last resort.

Not a big deal to fix.Had the same problem with my Ultra after the battery was disconnected.Remove the trim piece that contains the vents and such, take the gauge lens cover off and gently rotate it counter clockwise. It will bounce back.Re-assemble and you are good to go.

We use pretty beefy magnets to get them to flip back around, kinda tedious but will also work. They flip alot on the Parks and Lesabres

My magnet was not up to the task so used first idea, thanks all.
See my new project question, power seat motor gear.
