My 8.5 houseing is bent pretty bad to where the tires wear out on the insides around 7500 miles. I was wondering what the right width of rearend I should be looking for? Is there certain years of a rear I should look for? and where could I get the brackets to do the swap? If I wanted to get a 8.5 what year/make do I need to put my carrier in?

Go to smileysracing.com and you can find a housing fairly cheap. The dirt track guys have been doing it for a LONG time and they have everything set up for it. Good luck

Just get a bolt in housing from Currie Enterprises.
or get the same thing locally for less from a shop that doesn't have a multi million dollar a year advertising budget to pay for.
find out where the local circle track guys get their stuff and go there.
