I had pleasure to work my skills on this sick setup. its a 87 Elcamino with a ford 9" with 458 gears. the motor and trans are from a 210,xxx mile tard van. It has the following mods. 2003 LQ4 6.0, Polluter cam [240s duration], stock 78mm truck intake, stock 03 243 heads with dual springs, 1 3/4 owner made headers, 3400 stall, stock 210,xxx mile 4L80e, dual 3" with magnaflows. Tires are MT DRs 295/65/15s.
This was its first time out with the new setup and went 11.53 @ 119 [almost 120]. the next pass the owner hit it with a 150 shot to go deep 10s and gernaded the 9". this car/truck is tuned CLSD by myself, car drives like stock, has very smooth idle no surging or bucking while driving. Come 2010 were shooting for 10s NA with some suspension tweaks.
