Hey all
I got an 87 GN Stock Trans and I got an 88 SS Monte, The Monte had a Th350 in it when I got it, I got a 2004r out of a Olds Cutlass Supreme. I had the idea of taking the stock servo & stock shift kit from the GN tranny putting that into the 2004r for the Monte, then buying a super servo, & the high tech shift kit from kirban's to put in the GN. Can I do this, or is the GN 2004r a completely different breed than any other 2004r? Thanks guys

The 2004R internals are basically the same.
The GNs' Valvebody, Governor, Servo and TV boost, Low/Reverse boost Valves in the Pump are different. They're calibrated for 3.42 gears.
A Governor from a SS-Monte may work better since the 88 SS has 3.73 gears. You can swap the GNs above parts into the Cutlass Trans. The GN 694 Governor is the largest stock size. If you need more Trans performance check with CK for a Valvebody Recalibration Kit & Servo.
