I haven't had any problems with my Sy that weren't self inflicted. The 700r4's that come in these trucks are a weak point, but they are basically the same transmission (4L60e = Electronic controlled 700r4 )that comes stock in all of the LS1 & LT1 Fbodies + a lot of the earlier LSx powered trucks had the same transmission. My sy has run 11.8x in the 1/4 with basically a stock transmission, I won't be turning the boost up anymore than that until I can do a 4l80 conversion. I wouldn't try to run the same ET in a TR without doing some work to the tranny.
To me the little bit of extra work is worth it for a vehicle that leaves as hard as syty's do on the street.
