pulling my motor down tonight and noticed that the drivers side header is all white inside and about 5" into the crossover. the passenger side is fine....is this normal? doesnt look to be. what should i look for? thanks in advance for any help

Sounds like it was running real lean. What did the plugs look like on that side. 3&5 Cyl usually run a little leaner than others.

Could possibly be some head gasket seepage as well (realtes to the lean problems) Did the car smoke before you tore it down? Plug condition will tell you more. Let us know what you see.
