My car refuses to idle at 13.0 or leaner. Unless its around 11.0 it surges and rolls through about 500 rpm. What can I do to fix this?

OK the guyt hat tried to set up the car had the closed loop only operating between 2300 and 2500 rpm. So in reality it should be more like from idle to say 3500 - which is where the car would be in boost and you would only want it to refernece the AE tables and the VE slopes? IS that correct?

What preciesely is closed loop and how does it work? Also - in my AE tables. How do I get a concrete idea of where I want to be at with them?

could someone email me one of their gct files. So I could ge a look at what the AE tables SHOULD look like?

And how do I know where to set the AE values? Is there anyplace I can find a cheat sheet that will give me a more general idea to the tuning of the system and car?

Thats done and done - I still dont see any values though when the car is hooked up to the laptop and running w/ the dashboard open. Not only at idle but all throughout the revs.

I have 02 correction enabled in my logging now. However it always reads zero. Is this a parameter that I need to turn on somewhere? I have the values set - but it does'nt show its attempting to do anything.

I've had to adjust some tables since the last dyno session. However prior the car cruised very rich. In the 11.9-10.1 area. Sometimes even richer. I was not responsible for that initial tune. That was with around 30* timing.

How lean or rich should I shoot for in light load around town situations. I know if I fatten it up the motor will run cooler but suck more gas. On the other hand a leaner mix should make the car feel peppier. What a/f are you guy running between 1500-3000rpm while in vaccum?

I don't have a real concrete idea behind timing and I'm trying to get the timing curves smoothed out in the FAST. How should the timing corralate to boost?

Could someone explain timing to me. What exactly it is and how it affects how the motor performs. Also how adding it and taking it can affect things.
