    Paint question

Thanx for all of the replies. I wasn't sure if it was "factory" or not. I've used stone guard before and will redo the '87. Just some added protection for the bottom half of the car.

    Paint question

In the process of painting an '87 GN. Question: it looks like there is "chip guard" on the lower portion of the car from the mid-door down. Is that how these cars came from the factory? If it is standard, does anyone know if there is a specific paint that should be used or is any "chip...

    What do these wires power

Found the problem. The wires are for some aftermarket gauges + my courtesy light fuse was blown.

    What do these wires power

I've got two wires, one a heavy red wire and the other a black wire that came unplugged near the fuse panel. Both wire are connected to the same male connector. I also noticed my power antenna is no longer working and my dome and courtesy lights on the kick panel aren't working. I have to...

    Tail light fuse blows

    Tail light fuse blows

One of the things I did to isolate the problem was to pull all of the tail lights. I went as far as unplugging the tail light wiring harness in the trunk on the driver's side. I also removed, cleaned, and replaced the drivers side ground. I also replaced the headlight switch, but not the...

    Tail light fuse blows

This problem is on a 1987 GN. Every time I turn on parking/headlights, the 20 amp "tail" fuse blows. The headlights will go on, stop lights, and turn signals work fine. However, I've got no tail lights or dash lights. What I've done so far is: 1. Checked grounds 2. Done a visual...

    Need opinions

Thanx for the response. I wouldn't be using the car anywhere near as much as you (it would be a 2nd car) but would like to feel comfortable with taking it on a trip if i wanted to. I do the vast majority of my own work on my cars (with maybe the exception of tranny rebuilds) so, at least...

    Need opinions

I've been looking at GNs for quite some time now and am considering buying one. I've read a lot of the threads on this site and have a basic question: Is it reasonable to assume a GN can be used as a "daily driver"? I'm not looking to race the car or beat it to death (I'm 69 and over that...
