Thanks for the reply. My buddy is using the smc kit with methanol and I heard it wasn't made for meth and was just looking out for him. So I guess he should start using alcohol. Thanks, Joe

When using a smc kit should you use methanol or denatured alcohol? What is the difference between the two? and will the methanol corrode the smc pump. What about Razor's Kit? Should you use methanol or denatured alcohol? Thanks, Joe

Are any components of the stock motor forged or are all the parts cast and which parts to replace while you have the motor out and opened up. Basically what are the weak parts of the motor and about what hp can you get out of the stock parts. thanks

yea I dont know anyone at that shop but they just seemed kinda shady to me, they wanted to pull the motor without even checking the head first which was odd to me. There is one cracked piston and a blown head gasket and i have no idea how spencer is wanting to fix it. it is all up in the air...

Yea that mechanic didnt like dale at all. he said we couldnt go into his shop due to insurance reasons. They have had the car for 5 days and only pulled off the turbo and intercooler. I hope he gets that car out of that shop today.

yea I think it has some smc parts but mainly a homemade kit. I e-mailed you pictures cause they were to big to post and i couldnt figure out how to resize it with my computer at work.

I refered him to a great buick mechanic that knows these cars in and out but he took it to someone else and I dont know what this other guy knows about buicks. He has scanmaster to tell him if the car is knocking, but where can you get a sensor to tell you when your methanol injection is low.

alright and if they do end up replacing the pistons I will tell my buddy to buy some better ones to put in, whatever he can afford. Is there any thing else he can put in it without spending a lot of money while the motor is opened up?
