Look what a stock rod length is and then ask if you need a rod that long. The reason you see that so much is those were common NA rods. That's too long for the reasons the physicist states.

Try not just putting the cam in straight up but advanced a couple degrees. I tried that with some pretty good results. (think no spool lag)
