Nice numbers! This car should make all the V6 guys cry wishing they went v8. I hope to get close to those with my combo which is very similar to yours. I recently decided to go E85 because all the local Thorton's up here have a nice supply of E87 just sitting around.
I saw those fabricated intakes on Ebay and I assume you're Sharp96ss. Do you plan on dyno the new intake. No one has tested this intake with boost yet and I am curious to see the results. The black one looks badass.
I just picked up an LY6 for my project and I am really considering going turbo. Few questions for you.
Did you delete the VVT?
How is the lag in normal driving conditions with that turbo? Any regrets with the size you chose?
Did you do anything to the shortblock?
Who built your engine harness?
Guys, I apologize but I'm a idiot. It turns out its the lockup that is cycling. The new converter just makes it seems like its the gears because it fluctuates almost 1000 RPM. When I first installed the trans I played with delay circuits but for some reason they would work for a few cycles...
I got my WOT shifts perfect with the help of some board members here (thanks David H and Texas T). I am really impressed with the heavy throttle and WOT shifting of the 2004R.
The last issue is when I lightly accelerate it will shuttle back and forth between 3-4 rapidly. I do run a lockup...
I got a chance to beat the new combo around with some decent weather. I removed nylon governor spring screw and added a 3/4 stainless allen head bolt to add some weight. I went around the block and it would not shift out of first. So I drained everything again and found the bolt head is too...
I never used the trans before I built it. The other shifts are ok. I am still tuning the governor but I am close, I only need to go about 200 RPM higher. As far a shift quality, I like the 2-3 and 3-4.
I need some help with my painfully slow 1-2 shift at part throttle. When leaving from a stop smoothly, it just takes too long to shift. If I continue to roll into it, it takes even longer. Heavy and full throttle situations it shift firm and very quick. No flaring or slipping has been...
