I am curious to see what kind of engine temps everyone is running. I am outside of Houston and we have had a heat advisory for the past week or two with temps near/at 100 degrees and "feels like" temps 103+. What is the hottest your Buick has run and what was the temp outside? Also, please post your cooling mods...

Thanks!

The hottest it got around here was 101*. Engine temp was 185*in traffic, 175* on the highway. 160* thermostat, F-body radiator, stock fan.

With A/C on Max, outside temp 90, stop and go traffic, engine temp was about 210 with stock radiator and front mount. I think I need Alum rad.

I have a recored 4 row stock unit/160 thermostat, flow cooler water pump and a Lincoln mark 8 fan in mine. The car has a FMIC about the size of a precision but a bit thicker. The last trip i took it on it was 5:30 and around 98* on I10. It stuck around 192 with the AC on moving down the highway at 65-70. I got into traffic and it went to 205 and couldn't ge rid of that heat once we got moving again without turning off he AC. Without AC my car would stay 180-185 on the hotter days. I just got done installing an aluminum radiator from Red C5 and can't wait to try it out. Its a 2 row unit with 2 1 1/4" rows. As soon as I get my turbo back Ill see how it does.

Yes, please post results because I am also interested in a C5 radiator but not sure how much it will help.

I should make sure its known, its not from a C5, its from a board member on here named "red c5" It is the same unit that PTS used to sell.

Haha, and here i was thinking i never heard of "C5 Corvette" transplant!!!

I have the Taurus 3.8 single fan, F body Rad, SLIC, 160 Tstat, and the other day i noticed my temps getting close to 200 with AC on and 95+ temp.

I then reinstalled the partitions that mount behind the header panel and behind the bumper to "seal" it off and force air into the condenser/radiator. I also sealed off the fan shroud. I have yet to test it but I dont think i want to drive it on day like today in Houston...

One thing i did notice is the scanmaster showing volts of 11.2 with ac and fan on high...

I have a f body radiator, stock fan and 160 thermostat, no a/c(no compresser) we've had temps around 90 -100 degrees with 80% + humidity and mine hasn't gone over 175 in stop and go traffic. On the highway it runs about 164.

Stock rad, stock fan, front mount. 95 degree day with A/C on. 190-200 degrees at highway speeds. I've seen as high as 212 in traffic.

It's been 95-100 here and mine setting at redlight's in town with A/C on will run 190. I have an 89 Iroc radiator from advanced auto part's and a dual fan that i believe came off a 96 malibu and a 160 thermostat. It run's at 170 running down the road with A/C on. Mine was hitting 210-215 before i put the dual fan's on while setting at light's. I am a FIRM believer in dual fan's. ;)

hello people; I've been chasing cooling temps for a while and there's alot to look at on this site. But a co worker has a fairly new GTO, red with shiney chrome wheels and some slight mods. He had an old one so his next step was a new one. I asked him the other day (because it's been a hot summer in Mass.) how's your cooling temps? He says it stays right in the middle. The car don't even have a gage. My point is I'll bet if we just had an idiot gage it would show the same. But a analog, digital gage is the way to go and I think that GTO should of had one from the get go.

I have NO air-conditioning, so minus the condenser in the front of my radiator is a big help......with that said and done, I have Dual SPAL fans, 160 stat, and Fbody radiator and the car NEVER goes above 170. I think the hottest I got it was 169....:D

Thanks guys. I have them in stock ready to ship. I also use one and have a PTE front mount. The name of my company is Alradco but if you guys want to call it the Red C5 radiator, that's cool too. :D

Red C5 rad.

I just installed one on a customers car. I am sorry to say I can't give any worthwhile feed back as I have something else going on that I have yet to solve. I will say this though. The one I recieved had a small defect and he was beyond professional in the way he handled the problem. He took care of business in a way to keep customers. ---Lee
