You think its the crank sensor?my bet is on the 30 yr old wiring/pins/terminal pin tension issue...also if you think it the sensor....a simple test would be to spray it with brakleen....that will cool it and it will restart.....now if you change it besure to recheck the base timing again as not all sensors are the same...they vary depending on the way the mold is set up----enjoy and good luckAnd guess what failed multiple times today....

I Have fast and had loss of crank sensor and no start a few times today. I see cam sensor signal led flashing....but no crank.
After a few cycles of power and attempted start-up...i eventually got my crank signal back and then injectors fired and instant start.

I am sure you know this....but I will toss it out there ...with xfi the base timing is adjustable if it is determined to be off
